Just got my Kangoo back today from a very reputable fuel injection specialist and diagnostics centre that I took it to, to investigate the lack of power I experienced on Friday. Their investigations led them toward the turbo and on closer scrutiny it was found to be seized! I called my local Renault dealer who advised me that Renault might pay 30% of the replacement cost but that I would have to get the now undriveable machine to them to confirm the problem. I decided after calling customer services that I could be on a hiding to nothing and end up paying the 1000 that they were estimating as being the full cost of replacement and waiting at least a week to get it back. 55k on the clock and just over two months out of warranty.

My bill from the specialist's who questioned whether the dealers were using the correct oil charged me 500+vat and turned it around in a day if you ignore the week-end!

I shall be contacting Renault to see if I can get anything out of them now, but I don't hold out much hope....the whole incident does re-inforce my nagging doubts about these lengthy service intervals that are being quoted now.
