The car is now 4 yrs old so now out of manufactures warranty and the independant garage where I bought the car from gave me no warranty. The car has done 58k and has a full service history, it was a company vehicle apparently.

The owner of the independant garage made it very clear on the phone that he will not be responsible for the fault but is happy for me to use his mechanic to do the work. He also told me the car would be save to drive.

I took it to the dealer today so they could confirm the fault. As we drive down the road the car started throwing out lots of smoke and I was told it wasn't save to drive. The turbo could split the fins and send them into the engine creating more damage. Great bit of advice.
