It is possible to fix the keycards yourself. You need a new stanley knife blade to prise the case apart. It is quite a comon problem for the switch to become detatched from the pcb.

If you try a search on here there are more details of hoe to repair the card.

I doubt a dealer would give you a loan car as the car can still be driven, I know there are security issues because you can't lock it. They may even keep cards in stock, but you will need your reg document to prove ownership.
The dealer can program the new card to the car in 30 mins or less.So they will probably ask you to wait while they do it.
Many thanks Sports Tourer - I'll try the dealer first and if they won't deal with it quickly I'll have a got at taking the thing apart.
