If the dipstick shows the correct level and the display shows dashes it sounds more like a faulty
Not sure how easy it is to get to though.
If the dipstick shows full, do not put any more
in just to see if the display changes, as you will have overfilled the engine, leading to more expensive problems than a faulty sensor.
