Im pretty sure its just an earth (looking at diagrams its labelled as a supressor? Not sure what it does atm..)
My clio has one too coming from the
You should see a bolt near the
filler cap (yours has broken off and left the metal pit under the bolt)
Edit: heres a photo, it is bolted down by the bolt with the red dot on it.
i had a feeling it went there as there looks to be a braket there but couldnt see how it fitted on to it
If it's a suppressor, then it's just there to neutralise the electrical noise that the
produce. Without this gizmo, you'd probably find you got an engine speed related whine through the radio.
It may be designed to earth through its mounting point. Then again, it may just normally be bolted down to stop it flapping about. If you're not getting the aforementioned whine through the radio, then I'd be inclined to just leave it alone.
i dont appear to be getting any whine through the radio, so will leave it for now, might see about getting a new one in the future sometime
Thanks for your help
