To be fair, they were no better or worse than anything else the company made at the time.
I think people are sharing their experiences purely to explain why so few remain on the road.
Cars perceived as low-quality have a correspondingly low-value, therefore those who own them view them as one repair away from the crusher - aka disposable.
I wouldn't take any comments personally, your dad had a good one - I would probably suggest The Good One.
i had the MG Maestro 2.0 EFI and it was a great car
if i remember correctly 115 bhp, black, was pretty quick
was a B reg so was a bit ago
