I must say this is a terrible comment to make, have you read this thread from the beginning, surely you can see by the number of posts and members who have visited this thread how important to everyone this is, Over 300 complaints to watchdog already I believe has being raised, Not all parts are ordered through a main dealer by body shops, Maybe someone has not had a whole life to lead as a result of the bonnet catches failure we do not know, I find the above post insulting and insensitive to other members who have suffered as a result of the bonnet catches failure, I do not believe that the failures are down to lack of maintenance.
I was in the local distributors to-day and asked about, the Clio bonnet. As to if they had sold many for the Mk2 and the answer was one or two. Now this is the main distributor for the North East of Scotland. I still believe that if people paid more attention to the condition of their cars then there would be fewer problems. It seems to me that having seen quite a few older cars that the last thing people seem to look at is the bonnet catch. Everyone seems to want to blame someone else for things going wrong. It is stated in Law that the driver is responsible for making sure the vehicle is roadworthy before starting off. So why are we still going on about this subject, when theres a whole life out there to live?
Its people like Meesh and Brigatti Etc who should be commended for pursuing this the way they have against a large company who continually advertise their commitment to safety, If even one further person is saved from injury or worse by these posts then surely it has all being worth while.
