Rear brake pad replacement problem Help

Looking for some advice my car went in for an MOT yesterday and was given an advisory for the rear brake pads, I told the garage to replace the pads but on trying to replace them they could not do it as they said the caliper would not wind back, they said it was turning but not moving I am wondering if they were doing something wrong or do I need new calipers. Any advice would be gratefully received.

The car is a 59 plate grand scenic with auto parking brake and 37000 miles on the clock
Currently in tonyandkaty's garage:
