OEM jacks and even scissor ones are not safe if doing maintenance I can certainly vouch for that..when I was in my youth I was doing a job on my ford Anglia..I jacked it up with a heavy duty scissor jack and was just going to proceed with the job of taking off the wheel when I thought I better put an axle stand under here M' i got said stand as started to slip it into place when the jack gave way..Oh my good gawd it ended up the the index finger of my left hand got trapped between a chassis member and the axle stand I now have a nice scar about two inches long on that finger where it was stitched up here endeth the lesson..
