Re: Scenic 2 electric parking brake HELP!!

Could well be a failed brake motor unit.
May not be.
That it comes on is half way there anyway.
Can you hear it trying to relase ?

What did seller tell you about history ??

Maybe as well to get it on a diagnostic before spending on a new motor. Sensors and dash lever can cause problems and there's most likely a fuse but never had to look for it so so not sure which one.

Brake units are coded to the car when fitted and AFAIK this is a one time only setting. So second hand units can give problems if only cos Renault clips won't recognise them as belonging.
However, people have fitted and reported good results.

They do seem to offered at a ridiculously high price for a unit of dubious history and reliability while you can get your own unit rebuilt for not much more.
Currently in Dancingdad's garage:
Qashqai 1.6 spark driven, Kia Sedona 2.9 TDI, Scenic II 15DCi 2004 (SORN) not quite RIP.
