Yes i was unlucky enough for that to happen aswell.
It cost me £200 in parts and I did all the work outside ont he driveway (in december!
Check out the thread I made when it happened, it gives you a good idea of what work is needed.
You will have bent your valves without a doubt. While your at it you will need a new headgasket and surrounding seals. I also changed my valve stem
seals while i had the cylinder head off.
