I believe that SEAT are saying its ok to have servicing done at a non SEAT garage (which you will have to pay for anyway) and not invalidate the warranty as long as it is done to the SEAT directions and using SEAT parts. However any work that needed to be done under warranty will have to be done by a SEAT garage or the independant garage will charge you. This would make sense I think, as no indy garage would be able to claim from SEAT for work done. I dont see that there is a problem with the block exemption as this is not part of that.
Currently in Asterix's garage:
Renault Megane Scenic II 06 1.5dci Oasis in Eclipse Grey Metallic but it is not in a garage
