Laguna Battery Drain

Here I was just about to solve the problem with my back window heater, when the battery has drained.

I've had my car since october 2006 and this is the second battery that I have purchased. The last mechanic told me that my alternator was fine and that the previous battery I had fitted was faulty.

I don't want to have to purchase a battery a month it's a bit expensive. So before I call him, or someone else to have a look at the car, what could be the possible causes for this obvious battery drain?

Cold and frustrated!!
