It may also be lower than 12K for some of the 'sport' models. I remember the 2 litre Clio II always had a 12K interval while the rest (petrols at least) were 18K.
Re the 9000 mile service intervals on the FAP diesels, When I asked they said it was because of the euro compliance, Yet other manufacturers never altered there service intervals to comply, Tho most work on a different system for soot burn off, I feel the system Renault introduced was a cheaper method so their engines would comply with the most recent euro rules and also so they could bring the service intervals down to 12000 without admitting that their engines were not suitable for 18000 service intervals.
