As said, diagnostics may be best bet.
There are three clutch switches. Do you know which was checked ??
The top and bottom do not affect handbrake, only the middle one. Which is a potentiometer and is prone to be kicked off or the operating arm broken.
It's a flat rectangular box tucked away half way up the pedal.
Won't show an error on the dash as the motor cannot tell the difference between the switch not moving and the driver not pushing the clutch.
Gear box selector switch is the other suspect but if reversing lights coming on then should still allow the brake to release in reverse.
