Check your brake fluid levels, preferably before you drive the car again cos the brakes may not feel fine for long.
The brake warning, stop and bleep is the low fluid warning and usually starts coming on occasionally on hills or corners
If on continuously it means fluid is dangerously low.
The warning does really mean stop.
You also need to get your brakes checked for leaks or low pads.
