Aye, all of that....fixed things using methods that would have engineers running for cover but they worked.... "Back lane Engineering" as I call it...can't beat it.
If you turn the valve through about 180 degrees it stops the gasses getting into the engine by blocking the ports. It still allows the valve to open & close as it should so no warning lights...well not on my car.
Only down side is that only 1 bolt hole lines up, but if you put a large washer on one of the other bolts it will press on the edge of the valve to secure it.
Mines been like this for a few years now with no problems and it cured the slight hesitation you seem to get at around 1500rpm.
