Re: MK III Megane Front Doors Clicking

The drivers door stay on mine disconnected inside the first year and it had started to clik a little.
Its been the only real"look at this" fault so far.
Guy said it just needed to be reattached but since it was guarantee, they got a new part.
Id steer clear of wd40 for door stays,
Its a super thin oil and will only make the sound worse cos it provides no deadening and I think accelerates wear as there is some pressure there.
Use a light grease or whatever the renault part no grease is.
I put a lil bit of castrol molybdenum on mine along the stay.
Dont put on too much or itll just clunp up and collect dirt.
Mine has a light coatingand just feels greasy to the touch.
Essentialy just a little along the 2 humpy bits on the stay(inneredge).
Its fairly quiet and no cliking noise, but it does hold at the opening stops.
wd40 on there an Im sure itd go clik clik.

Its been fine for near 2 years since. The other side np less use anyway but I did put a small amount of grease on just in case.

Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
