Also make sure you complete a technical report - or get your insurance or the RAC (minimal costs, I believe) to get one down - as useful to provide factual 'evidence' of this incident when presenting the case to Renault.
Also, push Renault to complete their own - once you have done your own report - BUT DO NOT give the results of yours just yet! Don't even mention you've completed one! Then wait for Renault to come back to you, following the results of THEIR survey, and then if they blame you, push your statement in front of them and say please counter this then!
