Presumably you have experimented with putting the nozzle in the filler at different angles, most of the way in, half way in etc etc.
Different pumps and different brands can make a difference. Some dispense the fuel a lot quicker than others so it foams greater.
Fillers on cars also vary from make to make & model to model. I find that you have to experiment a bit to get the best combination to avoid the pump/nozzle to keep cutting out every few seconds.
Sorry if I am teaching your grandmother to suck eggs here, but you didn't mention trying alternatives to no avail.
