Megane mk2 knocking noise

Hi All,

Ok so for the recent mot I had to change the driverside wishbone and drop link.

To do this I had to drop the subframe a little to remove the last wishbone bolt...great renault design!!!

Since having this work done I now have a loud clunking/knocking noise coming from what sounds like the engine bay area. I first thought the brake caliper on the passenger side was seized as it seemed to only do it when braking and then accelerating so it was as if the when I was braking and then starting to move faster the caliper were releasing.

It now appears it is when I am accelerating back up to speed the car is making the noise so say going from 5mph etc up to 15mph.

It is a very noticeable noise and can be heard from outside the car.

Is the subframe to blame? Has an engine mount gone kaput when I dropped the subframe???

Any ideas??

I have checked the subframe and all seems in order and tight up as it should be.
