Thumbs down Aaaarrrrgggghhhhhh!

Further to my previous post, it appears I had not located the source of my leak as the rear passenger side footwell was again sopping wet this morning after rain all night and even still.

By luck I noticed yesterday, whilst removing the rear lights to smoke spray, I noticed that the boot was wet on one side but I could not see any obvious source for this water until this morning.

I was sitting in the car having a sneaky fag break half way round my round (I'm a postie) and I happened to reach onto the parcel shelf for a book I am reading and noticed that the roof was wet at the boot edge . I investigated by opening the boot and, low and behold, what should greet me but the rubber wire tube with a rusty residue arround it which sat dirrectly above the wetness on the roof lining .

I am now pretty confident that this is actually the cause of all my problems as it appears the water is running down the inside of the rear strut, into the boot, along the boot to the underneath of the rear seats and finally down into the footwell.

This is the offending point of entry;

I shall wauit for a dry spell and seal this area somehow and hopefully be done with it otherwise I shall burn the car (that should dry it out)
