CLIO II driveshafts issues year 1998/05
I have to change driveshafts for Renault Clio II, year 1998, month 05. The problem is that I bought new driveshafts, went to garage and mechanics noticed that new ones are about 3-4 cm too short? Secondly is it CV joint breakable or I need to change the whole driveshaft as my mechanic says it is not possible to separate cv joint and need to change the whole driveshafts. IS it true? How it can be?
Everything fits into wheels and gearbox, but it is just too short and makes noise when driving. I have checked GKN website and found that there is 4 lenghts for this model 608mm, 619mm, 700mm and 710mm. How I need to know which one to buy. And nobody asked me in a shop what is my length, everyone just asks year and reg numbers, but by that I bought exhaust, cv boot kits, now driveshafts and none of them fits my model. As I understand this is very first model for Clio II, so do the parts still fit from Clio I ???I have lots of problems with this car buying parts, but I need driveshafts urgently now and do not know if I will get right ones again. Could anyone advise me please anything about driveshafts for this model? and where is the best place to buy them. As normal thinking, shop should have a look at the catalogue, not just reg #, as it says only year.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me any opinion if you have any thoughts about this, will appreciate that.
Many thanks in advance for your answers!
