Scenic II DCi injectors and pump

Never loan your car out to someone who can't tell it's a diesel!

04 Scenic 1.9 DCI - friend put petrol in it, ran it till it died.

Now, the whole thing's screwed.

Needs a new pump and injectors.

So - my questions are:

1) Are the injectors coded? (don't seem to be?)

2) Is the pump coded?

3) Are all DCi pumps the same, or not?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Scenic II DCi injectors and pump

Yes it looks like there is a load of damage and if repaired by Renault the cost could probably exceed the value of the car. Renault charge around 3000+.

If the fuel pump has disintegrated internally then the complete fuel system will need to flushed including fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel rail, fuel filter, etc, etc, The fuel pump and injectors will also need replaced.

Yes the injectors are coded but the pump ain't.

Hello,

your best bet will be to take your car to a diesel injection specialist for repair. When I borrow a car I always ask what fuel it takes and likewise when I lend my car out I state its a diesel.

Re: Scenic II DCi injectors and pump

The fuel system is all done - and was full of swarf.

The injectors and pump need replaced, but I needed to know which are coded.

So it's the injectors that are coded, and not the pump?

Are all the DCi pumps the same, or will I have to match up part numbers and stuff?
