Question mk1 1.2 8v clio, valve adjustment process.

Here we go, my first post.
Forgive me if this has been answered before, I haven't managed to find the full explanation as yet though.

Ok, a bit of background, the car had developed quite a bad misfire, so I changed the oil , spark plugs and coil pack, but still had the problem I pulled off a vacuum hose that looked to be connected to the injectors and the engine started revving higher so I gave a quick run around and it seemed to fix the issue, hose back in place all is still ok. Although it's no longer misfiring it still sounds (very slightly) like a misfire, I'm praying this isn't a crack in the head because that might be a little beyond my capabilities, so my next approach is going to be adjusting the valves (they are noisy anyway) and I'm hoping someone can tell me if I've got the right idea, or if I'll go about it all wrong.

Once I have the rocker cover off I need to turn the flywheel,which will raise and lower the cylinders, when cylinder #1 reaches TDC I can adjust the front valve to 0.10 mm and the rear valve to 0.20 mm, using a feeler gauge to measure the gaps.
Then repeat the process on cylinder #4, then #2, then #3.

I'm hoping this is the right idea, one day I'll probably buy the haynes manual but for now if anyone can tell me if I'm right or wrong, and any additional advice, would be great.

You're on the right track - just make sure each cylinder is it's compression stroke when at TDC .
