kangoo 1.5 idle problem

recently purchased a 2008 1.5 dci,70 van,the van starts and runs perfectly but when the engine is idling it seems to miss a beat,it ticks over normally but every so often it kind of races for a second then goes back to normal, there are no warning lights coming on and the engine sounds normal,im worried that it could be something sinister and will cause a major problem if i dont get it sorted
