Hi and good to be part of forum,
Just bought my son a 2004 (04) Clio 1.2 Authentique which is the 8v version. Not had a 8v or 16v before, all cars I have had have been straight 4s. Had a Laguna 1.6RN for 10 years, Ford C-Max 1.6 Zetec for 3 years, and now a Citreon C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 110 HDi, so it all new to me and my son.
Are there any charateristics with this engine one needs to be aware of, or listen out for. Its done 54000 ish miles and its got a new MOT, track rods replaced and had a dealership service; well the oils clean anyway. Cant hear anything untowards except a slight tapping noise from engine at idle.
Have to get dealership to reset steering after track rods were replaced, they obviously didnt hold the steering wheel as its off slightly.
I know from the Laguna, the cam belt will need looking at in 16000 miles.
If someone could offer up some advice I would be appreciated.
Regards David
