Hi, my husband has just given in and bought me a scenic! Fantastic car, loads of storage space, keep losing things!
I need some help, the spark plugs need replacing, but we are not sure where to start on this one! It's a 2.0 16v 2000 scenic, i believe the spark plugs are under the ignition coils? on top of the engine, at first glance could look like plug leads? if so, how easy, or otherwise, are they to replace and how please! thanks in advance, alison.

This is for a Megane but I guess the same approach would work on a Scenic ?

Over the engine is a grey plastic cover. To see the coils or plugs this needs to be removed. You will then be able to see some leads. One above each cylinder. The leads are connected to the coils that are above the spark plug. To remove a coil, disconnect the lead and locate a hexagonal headed screw at the base of the coil. Undo this screw and the coil can be pulled out. The coil will have an o-ring so anticipate it being a little tight. Once the coil is off, you will be able to locate the spark plug. Remove the spark plug using an appropriate socket set. Fit the new plug and reassemble taking care to put back the same lead as you took off ( if replacing an entire set of plugs )

Are you changing the plugs to cure a misfire?.If so I suspect it's a coil causing it,although it's always a good idea to change the plugs at the same time as the coils.:)

Welcome to the forum by the way.:)
