I took off oil cap sbd I am getting strong puffs of air coming out like a steam train no smoke cold engine but I do get smoke if I take off cap after driving

history is after oil change and engine flush I was getting a strong smell of heat/oil burning after driving. a few days later it started to smoke for 2 seconds on ignition and pulling away from cold start. about three times it belched out a smoke screen while on dual carriageway.

It used all of oil plus about another liter in 200 miles

Smoking has now stopped also no smell for past 2 days only done short town driving but that was enough in past for smell. not sure why it's stopped don't its miraculously healed its self lol

I put oil to halfway today and noticed oil residue was all way up to top of stick. So I took off Cap cold engine and turned on ignition and lots of air and some oil spitting out not a lot but spots.

Is this normal. Or could it be excessive blow by from pistons or blocked breather. Stuck piston?

if it is pistons seals how much am I looking at?

Firstly ensure the engine oil is not over-filled using the dipstick.

Second check the crankcase breather system.

Thirdly check the inlet system for signs of excessive oil.

If the engine does require new pistons then the cost is likely to outweigh the value of the car.

Dip sick showed below low level now shows half. Digital shows full or 1 bar off full so that's a load of rubbish lol

Don't want to sound think but what do I check for breather. Oil/gunk I can't blow air through? Any guides on what pipes to check? Don't want to take to garage unless I really need to spent enough money in last month or two dont want to waste more on a dead car [emoji22]
