Hi All, I'm new here - This looks like the place to find some answers!
My Master 2.5 was running fine (maybe underpowered on steep hills) when one morning it wouldn't start. It turned over fine but wouldn't fire up. I got it towed to a local garage, they spent the day trying to track it down and in the end put a piece of polystyrene in the EGR sensor to stop it connecting. Now, if the EGR sensor is disconnected it runs fine except on big hills or under power. With it connected it starts and idles fine (no smoke) but as soon as I pull away the engine starts to rev high low high low and I get clouds of sometime black sometimes white smoke. I have with a mechanic friend removed and replaced the EGR (with 2 others) no change, we have also tried a new temperature sensor, no difference. Hes disconnected the pipes on the turbo and the fins are in place - no wobble, all looks fine.
We are a bit stuck and wondered if anyone could shed any light?
Thanks in advance as explaining all this in French Garages could be tricky and expensive!

Small hole in this, will do it....
Have you checked the turbo pipes,,,, Ask the mechanic to spray the turbo pipes with brake and clutch cleaner,,,,
If the revs rise, then check for a hole or a split...
