Theres no point in disconnecting the the coils one by one to check for a misfure as they are wired in pairs,so if you disconnect one you disconnect a pair.The way to check for a misfire is to reach down at the front of the engine and disconnect each injector in turn,this will show up the cylinder that has the problem.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

I have tested and removing the injector plugs made the engine run worse on all plugs so I assume that the coils are ok.
On the exhaust behind the first box there is a sensor with 4 wires. Is this the Lamda sensor? Mine looks like the wires have been cut off as there are no wires going into the harness. Couls this not be part of the problem?
