My engine crankcase is breathing hard and an exploration reveals this.
New ground for me but I'm working on the idea that the breather is blocked and pressure has blown the seal on the right blowing oil out. I assume the breather separates oil and fumes somehow with fumes going into air intake to be reburnt. I've a second hand breather coming.
Annoyingly I've dropped one of the four bolts that links the throttle to the egr valve and it didn't hit the floor. Can I find it? Nope. Even my usually dependable magnet hasnt retrieved it. So annoyed.
Sorry, despite having same motor as you. I've never seen owt like that. :frown2:
But, welcome back.
A proper expert will be along soon, hopefully. :smile2:
Can not see the picture gents, your pin will have dropped down under the steering rack, gearbox side, what you need is a can of foam filler, fill this area, you wont hear it tinkling around as you drive
Would agree Tim,,,,
Shouldnt the injector come out easier than normal, because it is blowing past.:idunno: if it will..
But it will be MOT failure, not doing your engine much good neither,....
Needs a good cleaning, can not recommend what to use, as tried loads of things over the years, and end up using coca cola, ( the real thing),
Then they changed the formula, so went back to vinegar.
But not ever tried get them out of one of these engines..
People on tinternet forums keep telling me they are a barsteward to come out....
Sure Batty said there was some on in the highlands that has a machine to get them out..
I'm in Manchester right now. Preregisteted trafic on twin turbo engine, 9 miles on clock, £9k off list. It's getting a towbar as we speak then up the road to the border and beyond!!
I'm chuffed. The old van limped here but it's done it's job well. New van white so I'm brushing up my driving skills.....
