Hi all I have a scenic 03 1.9 diesel starting problem turns over new battery new glow plugs .wont start first thing in the morin but if bump started it will go then will start all day.have checked with a multi meter there is constant 12v to glow plugs when no keys in also change the plug relay today started fine first time second try back to normal is some blowing the relay .if you take plug out dosnt heat up will the 12v but turn key on then it heats up .any ideas many thanks.

Right.
One common issue with Diseasals is minor leaks on the fuel feed system, letting fuel drain back to tank and causing starting problems when left for a while.
As it seems to fire up without the engine needing to crank over for a while when bumped, doubt this is the issue.

Glow plugs.
Similar, if it is firing up when bumping, doubt they are the issue. Do help when temps get down to freezing though.
Check resistance with you multimeter, 4-6 ohms normal.
The 12v you can measure is a micro amp feed to check glows haven't gone open circuit...normal.

When you crank it over on the started, check what voltage is across battery.
You can get a situation where the started will crank the motor over, seemingly without too much effort but is pulling down vehicle voltage to a level where the sensors and ECU get confused and it won't start.
I'm wondering if this is your issue.

Well first & foremost as the injectors on these run at approx. 150v's therefor the ohm's reading on the injectors has to be o.6 plus or minus 0.1 Any 1 that works on Renaults will know this. on this post it clearly stated this reading should be 4~6 ohms. No mb is not confused.

Had to read it twice,,, but them figures dont make any sense mb....
How can an ohms meter test an injector, There is no SINGLE test to check an injector ... Unless you know different HTH

Be fair guys.
Piezo injectors do need between 100 and 400v to trigger the crystals, presumably from voltage conversion within the ECU.
You're not going to read it on a voltmeter though, needs a scope.

But it still hasn't answered the question that one would like MB to answer as MB raised it.
Who mentioned injectors ?

Dead right, this is an 03 1.9 though Piezo injectors weren't AFAIK, around then.
Anyway..... Who mentioned injectors ?

It really doesn't matter how 1 tries to dress it up with stupid answers. When dd posted up glow plugs ohms reading should read between 4~6 ohms which has to be 0.6 plus or minus o.1. The reading he posted up was very wrong & therefor very misleading. The injectors ohms reading o.2~o.3 & yes injector voltage is approx. 150v

Total Rubbish, 150 Volts into 0.3 Ohms is 500 Amps. A starter motor takes less. :crying2:
Anyway piezo injectors are typically 200 Ohms.
I repeat. "No-one mentioned INJECTORS, except YOU.

Is this 80 odd volts to lift the pintle and the rest to hold it open mb, or are you trying to dress it up.
Maybe everyone on here is not a mechanic, and or have your level of proficiency.
But should someone offer a bit of advice, if that advice was misplaced, then other people would have the courtesy to point out the error. not give a bit of advice, that only the person writing it could understand...
It seems you read half a post, then, when it suits your mindset, make a derogatory remark....
If you have something to offer for the O/P to solve his issue, then by all means.
But if all you want to do is troll, best not reply to any posts
