Trafic 1.9 dci Glow plug problems.

Hi,

My 1,9dci Trafic refuses to start. The problem started 3 days ago. The van had not been used for a month or so. The glow plug light did not come on and van refused to fire up. I left matters rest for a half hour and just chanced trying it again later on and sure enough glow plug lights come on and the van starts up as normal.
However, next morning, the same problem. Glow plug light will not come on and van will not start. This time, it did not correct the fault itself. I checked the glow plug relay and confirmed that it is receiving 12v but no power getting to the plugs. Changed over to another relay which I picked up in the local scrappy but things still the same.
Disconnected the coolant temp sender to see whether ECU would activate the glowplug relay with a default temp reading but no joy.
Beginning to run out of ideas at this stge.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Trafic 1.9 dci Glow plug problems.

its flashing when the van is locked. Unlock the door and it continues to flash. Turn on the ignition it then stays on solid and doesnt go out.
I tried the spare key and it makes no difference.

Thanks for your input.

Would fire it in with easystart first, get it up and running, then do some testing...

Being left a month, diesel could have run back,
