Glow plug circuit
Fuel sensor ? Not sure about this
Two for EGR issues
Glow plugs would likely be failed glow plugs so I would check them first.... multimeter set to resistance, should be a low reading, if 0, 1 or infinity, plug has failed.
EGR faults, probably needs cleaning.
You also mentioned via PM of a pipe spraying oil ????
cheers DD, i'll take a pic tomorrow, think it's an intercooler pipe which has a split in it. Have looked for a replacement, but as it is a phase 2 Lag, it's a bit special. Shares megan parts, guess renault get to the point where each model works well, and it does, except for common failures i guess. thanks DD, for your help.
Maybe a daft question, do you reckon that a piece of that tape they use on gutters, roofs etc would work. The stuff that has a thin layer of tar on one side and a silver foil on the other. Or would it get too hot there?
Its a hard plastic pipe, so it does not get hot, but if you dont get the two sections firmly together then it is possible that it could get sucked in.
(Disclaimer alert) Have used gaffer tape, waiting for one to be delivered, and had no issues .. but mainly used it to make sure that it was that giving me the faults
Check if this is your one, double check, because the one fitted to your engine is also fitted on the megane 2 fitted with a dpf LAGUNA 1.9DCI 2001-2007 INTERCOOLER PIPE 8200142349 | eBay
So if not this check the megane section,
It has to fit the intercooler, so its how it bends, and where it bends and connects on the intercooler,( behind the radiator) is what you need to check, bend wise
I would use electrical tape, as it stretches. Try using it as a plaster, 5 mins later it's too tight. Followed by cable ties to pull it tightly together.
Do the EGR while waiting for spares.
Electrical tape, some money in Nottingham ,,,,
Gaffer tape was given to me by the customers car I was fixing,,,, freebie..
5 rolls of it .otherwise it would have been the plasters he had in the car, first aid kit there:grin2:
Electrical tape, is that the stuff we use when we repair the wiring , by twisting the wires together and covering the exposed wires>>>>
Cleaned the pipe up today, didn't have much time to do anything else, plus it was -4. Will have another crack at it tomorrow if weather permits. Where the split is, it's right in front of where the jubilee clip is, about 1cm in length, directly under that is the metal pipe that it slides on to, so should be an easy fix with jaffa, or electrical tape. For the EGR, do I need to replace gaskets?
Allegedly yes, does anyone,:wink2:
If no splits on the 3 metal gaskets ,, it should be ok...
If you can undo the jubilee clip and send down the pipe.
Then repair the split, then send clip back up, it will be a better repair/stopgap
Yes, as far as I know, my local factors can not get them, always send me main agents,,, ( they dont, they just get them from main agents for me)
But thats what they will say to you, unless you ask the question, I always ask the question, (fuel, time and idiots dont go down well with me)
After.
Notnoc, electrical tape seems to have worked, couldn't get the tie wraps to hold where I think you meant because of the lip. Anyway, put one on to keep you happy!>
Started the engine, and the DPF light came on P1431, and 406 have gone, just showing P0670, and P0409 now.
Ours, what's in what order do I remove this, or is it simply unbolt and it slides out? TIA:smile2:
SENSOR first,, plug off, then, ten mil bolt, careful, this sensor has a seal, slightly turn backwards and forward to pull the sensor out,,,,,,smear the seal with grease when you refit,, Dont spray inside the sensor, you will destroy the membrane Makes no difference which pin (bolt on here) after that, .
On replacing, egr flexi pipe screw the torqe pins in slightly, before you put the other pins in,.The egr flexi pipe will not align with the egr (without brute force) afterwards......0
Haven't got to that yet...the pipe repair didn't work. Sounded like a dump valve on steroids! Anyway, I have been diagnosed with T2 diabetes, among other ****, I need to sort this car out for my own! Po403, FIXABLE, OR NOT? TIA
Get your pipe sorted first, you have no turbo with this like it is, it will also screw the turbo up,,,,.....
Egr could be reading a fault because of your turbo/intercooler pipe issue..........
