Hi all...need some help please..
I got a 2005 trafic 1.9 dci with 123k on it..right here goes.
If i got to it now it will start but cut out after a few seconds..if i take the intercooler pipe off and keep trying it it will run for longer each time if i hold down the rev pedal at the same time, although it will not rev above 1500 rpm..when it does eventually start and run it will tick over all day but just will not rev above 1500-1700 rpm and as soon as i put the intercooler pipe back on it just chokes up and dies..
i have blanked off the egr to rule that out..i have checked intercooler pipes and intercooler and all is well..i have checked the turbo and that is good. I am fast running out of ideas lol..the symptoms are as if its not getting enough air for it to rev out properly..has anyone ever known an inlet manifold to clog up with crap and restrict the air flow ?...any help would be much appriciated...sorry about the gramer and spelling :grin2::grin2:

Soggy or collapsed Air Filter, Sometimes SO BAD the bits get sucked into the turbo?
Got any dash Nags, had the codes read?

What Nottie said.

Think on route of air into the engine.
Intake
Filter
Turbo
Intercooler
Inlet manifold

By disconnecting the intercooler pipes, you are bypassing all that comes before.
Those are the bits that need checking.
Air filter is a favourite, collapsed air feed pipes another.
Doubt turbo would stop it firing even if totally jammed.

Hi, thanks for the reply..i have had codes read and its coming up as p0530-p0100-p0105 and p0113 intake air temp circuit high input...i have changed the airflow meter and turbo boost valve..i have had the wiring harness checked for continuity...i have removed the cat to make sure its not blocked and why it was off i checked the waste gate on the turbo to make sure it was working ok..i have replaced the fuel pump incase it was a pressure problem..i have blanked the egr valve to rule that out...i am fast running out of options of things to change...and patience as well lol :)

Hi, i did the blue plug, it looked ok but i cleaned it anyway..i did change the maf but it was a secondhand one i put on it..maybe i need to try one off another van that runs ok just to rule it out...would that stop it reving out..
kind regards jay

Yes.
One CAN run the engine with the MAF electrically Disconnected. It WILL nag, but won't damage anything.

Just a quick update...i went back to the van today and it was still the same, wouldn't rev out until i tried to scratch the top of my I itchy foot on the bottom of the clutch pedal lol..when i scratched my foot on the clutch pedal it reved out fine..so when i lift the clutch pedal with my foot the van will start as normal and rev out with out any problems, so i am 99.9% sure its the clutch pedal switch.
who would of thought it lol...just want to say thanks for all the reply's and i hope this will help others with similar problems :) :)
