Hi all..the other half has got a 2005 renault modus 1.5 dci which runs rough on idle and has got check emissions on the dash
I have replaced the 4 injectors as the problem did give symptoms of injector fault....i took the 4 injectors out of a clio dci i am running and swapped them with the modus ones, the clio still runs well with no problems with the modus injectors in it but the modus still has the same problem...i have changed the crank sensor (dont know why lol) but problem is still there.
It starts on the button first time everytime and runs smooth as anything for about 10 seconds when cold but after that its hunting up and down and runs as rough as you like but it will rev out fine and will still drive with loads of power but it does sound like its got a slight diesel knock but its just the tick over problem i need to sort out.
The egr has been cleaned out and i have also blanked it off
Any help would be very much appreciated

Hi, thanks for the reply..i have changed the fuel filter and oil/filter a month or so ago.
I have also run it on fuel straight out of a fuel can to eliminate and filter or fuel feed problems but it still the same :(
thinking down the lines of trying another fuel pump on it again
cheers for the reply

Cant see it being the pump as it starts ok and even if the pressure relief
valve was stuck shut it is unlikely to over pressurise the system on tick over,
How did you blank off the egr? have you tried it with the egr unplugged?

Hi Yes i have run it with egr unplugged and it does run slightly better but still not right..the egr was stuck half open and it looks like the motor on it has siezed, would this cause the ecu to send the wrong signals to other sensors and cause the running problem ?..i have ordered another egr and it should hopefully be here tuesday next week so i will update post when its fitted
many thanks :)

It wont help and if the valve is staying open it's likely your problem
I would fit the valve you have on the way and see what happens then.
