Good morning.
Firstly new to this site, thanks for having me.
I have little knowledge when it come to cars but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty follow threads and watch video's to get the job done.
The start of my issue. My 1.9 dci 2004 scenic likes to drink oil not sure on quantity really but 5 litres in roughly 5 weeks not doing a great amount of miles really. So i went to top her up and noticed that there was a loose pipe from the purge valve vacuum solenoid, the solenoid actually was broken one of the nipples had snapped off i have ordered and replaced this part.
Had read somewhere that the oil separator can get blocked up so decided to take it off and give it a clean. That's when my issue started drove it for about 10 miles all seemed fine then the engine started to make a
grinding sound and loads of white smoke came from the exhaust stopped the car and checked to see if any pipes had come off but nothing untoward under the bonnet. Started her back up and again clouds of smoke and a really burning smell from the exhaust. Turned her off and towed home.
Yesterday i put a new diaphragm in the pcv valve which was perished again topped her up with oil carlube 10w40 semi synthetic, cleaned the air filter (couldn't replace as cant get to town no car.) the car starts fine but still lots of what looks like blue smoke and get very hot quickly but use's no coolant.
Please help me!!! could it be as simple as i am using oil that is too thin. Cracked head, Blown turbo..... thanks for your time.
