1998 Scenic road handling when windy

Hi everyone, im new to the forum but was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I bought a 1998 scenic a couple of months ago. One ting i have noticed due to the windy weather we've had lately in scotland is that when im driving and its windy i feel im struggling to keep th ecar on the road and constantly feel like its about to blow over on its side. this happens even at normal speeds and even when its only moderately windy. Is this normal? earlier today my knuckles were white when i was driving hom eon the motorway as i kept feeling the wind catch the car and was shattered by the time i got home.
