Wiring Corrosion – 53 Scenic 1.9dCi
I had this fault twice. First time I had issue no adequate explanation as to cause and repair (under warranty). The second time I had issue it was out of warranty and fault traced to corrosion on connectors which were repaired (allegedly – don’t trust Arnold Clark in Scotland). Cost a fair bit as they charged for about 6 hours engineering time and kept my car for 5 days!
Took it into another dealer today as I had handbrake warning light for a few weeks. Diagnosed the same issue, i.e. corroded terminals, only this time cannot fix and will have to replace entire wiring loom at cost of £850 (parts and 5 hours labour).
Sent off email to Renault UK to complain – I’ll let you know what sort of response I get.
