fault in fuel injection

happens about twice a week, prevalent on motorways when engine is worked and change up to sixth, also on warm up sometimes. switching off and back on cures alarm. once alarm is set engine is power and rev limited - standard protection device I am told. I have car serviced at local peugeot agent and owner said peugeot and citroen have the same problems with phantom faults, so we are not alone.
Currently in overmist's garage:
2002 laguna estate 1.9dci. somewhere there is good car trying to get out.
