Hi Horatio, bummer .... but I would def. report them to VOSA and your local trading standards.

POI, we actually had some inspectors from VOSA came to our home a couple of years back and wanted to discuss the recient experiance we had when our car had been MOT'd .... they then asked to re-inspect our car.
They collected it on a low-loader gave us a reciept for the car and promised its return later that day.
Sure enough it was returned, and with a NEW MOT certificate, from an independant VOSA station.
On discussing the matters it turned out that the garage was under investigation and this was part of the investigation. The car had passed its MOT and then re-passed an new test 3 weeks later..... the reason for the new MOT was that the garage was indeed dodgy and were using knocked off certificates as well and passing any old crap and write-offs (providing the price was right) .... it was not a backstreet outfit but a fairly reputable dealer ... no longer in business ... so the point of the story .... VOSA do take action if they know about it ... but they only know if people tell them.

So tell them about the experience.

Hope it helps

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
