The sensors are usually mounted on the underside of the passenger door mirror. Assume it is the same for the Espace as other Renaults.
THere are no adjustments or calibration available, so I'm afraid you will have to buy a new sensor. It may be worth looking at the connections in case there is some corrosion etc, causing "intermittant" readings.
Could the use of a pressure washer cause the problem?
