Hi, its unlikely unless the actual sensor casing is cracked. The connectors for the sensor are inside the mirror housing or just inside the car where the harness comes through the wing (usually under the speaker/speaker grille.) the sensor is solid state and enclosed in a plastic case and filled with resin, I'd check the connectors as stated (multipin under the speaker and also the connectors in the mirror housing, I remember there are 3 connectors and the sensor ... it may be part of the harness so cant be replaced seperately
... check that the harness has not been caught and damaged by the mirrors folding.
If its none of these then try and "borrow" a replacement esp. if it part of the harness (I really think it is
but you need to check with your dealer) or find a scrappy ... cost from renault is approx £55 +vat if its the harness.
Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
