TBH, most dealerships don't expect to see the cars once the initial warranty period has expired (unless for a repair requiring use of the CLIP or for buying dealer-only parts).

I can't help but think this really leaves the door open for some enterprising business to step in and offer 'repair kits' similar to the electric window regulators.

I once thought someone could make a fortune offering to retro-fit a rear wash-wipe on the previous gen Honda Civic, for a similar reason; to step up where the manufacturer stopped short.

Another one to address would be converting windscreen wipers to sweep 'properly', by keeping the driver's side clear as a priority, rather than an afterthought.
