My megane DCI had a leak on the diesel tank that was caused by the top of the tank, where the pipes are attached, not being screwed on properly. When I filled the tank full it spilled out at the top. The threads had been damaged and so the tank couldn't be sealed properly. You can access this by lifting out the back seat (behind the drivers seat) and removing the panel under the seat. You could see the pools of fuel that had collected around my seal. Check this out before you go dropping the tank.
