Re: hard brake pedal

Strange issue with the brakes and I know you'll be keeping an eye on em..just in case.

Once had a total brake failure with a Peugeot estate. Foot all the way to the floor and kept going..luckily only for a corner so just overshot.

Pumped and full pedal..seemed fine after that but drove home very gingerly. Checked everything I could think of but nothing.

Only found the "fault" six months later when the MOT inspector pointed out that it had a brake balance valve tucked away on the rear suspension..could only just see it when up on ramps... and the operating arm had fallen off.

Which had suddenly dumped all fluid into the rears and let the pedal go to floor.. next pump refilled system and though the valve wasn't operating, no problems.
Currently in Dancingdad's garage:
Qashqai 1.6 spark driven, Kia Sedona 2.9 TDI, Scenic II 15DCi 2004 (SORN) not quite RIP.
