OK, so I've managed to locate the ring pull to lock/unlock the fuel cap so immediate panic over!
I've also managed to unlock the boot manually (it wasn't easy!) and had the mechanism apart which works ok and the solenoid works when tried on external power.
I've also stuck a meter on the leads that go to the solenoid and this seems to show a brief pulse of power when the doors lock/unlock but it's clearly not enough to make the solenoids even twitch so this would seem to suggest that the cabling is ok.
I guess this leaves the most expensive part left to check - the control unit.
Any suggestions anyone?
