Re: AA, RAC or other break down service?

Britannia Rescue, since 1996, because I worked for the Civil Service at the time, and they used to be part of CSMA

Before that I was with the AA, from 1988 - 1996, originally it was a Staff Membership, as I worked for them 1987-88

Britannia was all the same benefits, but cost less. Never had any problems with them, tbh.
Currently in karenlouise1967's garage:
Scenic 1.9 dCi Privilege, before that a heap of rubbish aka Scenic 2.0 RXE now finally moved from neighbour's drive by the recyclers, before that a much loved Megane 1 Coupe 2.0 (RIP)

Re: AA, RAC or other break down service?

I'm in the AA and I'm quite sure that in the small print they say they will not provide free cover in the event of an accident but if asked to attend they will charge a recovery fee.
I think this is fair enough as they are a Breakdown Service and not an Accident Recovery service, and the costings are different as the insurers and compensation recovery are involved.
Why should any organisation pay overheads to pull your car out of a ditch if you've been driving like a loony, or some other wally has slammed into you.
Currently in Renoir White's garage:
Renault Trafic 1.7 Petrol Vauxhall Astra 1.4i & in bits Triumph Bonneville T140E & H-D XLH1200
