I would say, no, don't need one. I get a mate to lend me his car if I need anything towing, unofrtuantly its a 1.1 fiesta. Still, its a laugh

Voted "yes and I use it" Having the Cav four months without the tow bar was a pain. The local tip being properly "anti-van" means I need the trailer often for the tip runs at the very least. As of last month though all sorted - and only a couple of hours to fit - a personal record!

Like others I've had one on every car I've had, though it was a waste of time/money on my old Astra as I towed with it once before it went 100 and three hours of my time well spent there then

I must admit though when buying a "new" car it is nice for it not to have a towbar already as you never know what its been hauling in the past.

Can't say I've ever banged my shin on it though, but I have brushed past it when the cover wasn't on once or twice - nice trousers ruined there then.
